'Little things make perfection but perfection is no little thing!’ David Marshall
People. Passion. Precision. These are the values that make David Marshall one of Ireland’s longest established and the top name in the hair care industry.
Long live Sassoon
We were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Vidal Sassoon in May 2012. He was one of the most inspiring and talented hairdressers that the world has ever known.
"I worked with Vidal in London and managed his Sloane Street Salon. Through Vidal, I met David Bailey and many other talented artists of the time. It was a privilege to be in his circle - a time I'll never forget," said David Marshall.
David Marshall began his career as an apprentice to Vidal Sassoon in the late 60’s in Sloane Street, Knightsbridge, London, W1. Under the watchful eye of Sassoon, he learned his trade to the highest and most exacting standards. David’s talent, work ethic and precision were recognised at an early stage when he won an internal salon competition beating all other apprentices after being in the business for only 6 months. At age 21, David was appointed as Vidal Sassoon’s youngest ever manager at his Sloane Street salon in Knightsbridge, London.

David came back to Dublin in 1974 and opened his own salon at Fade Street. The salon was famous for the David Marshall trade mark ‘precision hair cut’. David Marshall remains a favourite among celebrities and a wide range of professional clients to this day.
In 1982, exactly 30 years ago, the David Marshall Academy of Hairdressing was opened in the adjoining South Great Georges Street premises. David brings the same exacting standards that he learned at Vidal Sassoon to students training at his academy in Dublin. The objective: To make each graduate of David Marshall Academy world-class, with the standard of training and experience that allows them to take their place in a top salon in Dublin, London, New York or anywhere for that matter. David's top graduates own and run great salons in Ireland and all over the world.
